Placemaker Parties/Respite

"Rolling in Faith also had other functions... Christmas parties, outings in the park, trick or treating and a party afterwards. Each of these events are enjoyable to attend. At the trick or treating event party, Carter even got up and danced with the other people. Carter also doesn’t like large crowds, so this was great for him. I shouldn’t be surprised at him at him anymore, but he still amazes me for trying and succeeding with every new challenge that he faces. Rolling in Faith has been a big part of that. Rolling in Faith has, from the beginning, given Carter the courage to try new things and to interact with others, no matter who they are or how they may communicate with you... I know with Rolling in Faith that Carter will be just fine."

Summer Skills 2022
Check out some highlights from our first 'Summer Skills' Program! 'Summer Skills' was designed to assist young adults/adults with intellectual disabilities in gaining important life skills. Important skills such as safe communication, grocery shopping, household chores, cooking independently, and much more was incorporated in to the seven-session program. Participants gained confidence in their abilities and familiarity in the resources their community holds by having the opportunity to be active and engaged. This program also held a community service component. Participants in this program completed five different community services projects serving individuals from our region and abroad in a variety of different ways.

'You Are Special' Adult Day Camp

Our adult summer camp is a day camp experience created for individuals with disabilities 15 and older. During our camp, we explored how God views our uniqueness through content specially created for our event from Liberty University Special Education Department. Campers were able to explore unique interests through activities, Bible lessons, and community service. We couldn't have done this program without all of our contributors, but a special thanks to City National Bank Metropolis, Sweet Jordan's, the Vue, & WPSD Local 6 for making our week a little sweeter. We cannot wait to have another camp like this again in the future!
